Description:
A Saturday training covering the full 6 years of The Journey to Adulthood program of Spiritual Foramation for parishes. Sunday brings a bonus sermon from the trainer at all three services plus discussion time during the Christian Education gathering. We will explore the theological and developmental underpinnings of this fine program, and take a look at the current culture for youth in our communities and in the church. We will also gain the hands-on skills needed to launch and sustain a youth program, including Sunday and non-Sunday morning gatherings, building a calendar, using the lesson plans, and other practical matters. Saturday morning's training begins at 8:30 am and will end around 3:00. Please contact Kristina for additional details and service times on Sunday. We will have great and useful information for both long time users and newcomers to the Journey to Adulthood program. This training is also very useful for those just exploring youth ministry models and options but not currently using the program. All are welcome!

SATURDAY, OCT 17 ---- This all-day workshop (approx 9am-4pm) provides an overview of the Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program. We will begin in the morning with general information about the program, how it is different from other Youth Ministry programs and the role the entire congregation is asked to play. We will examine some of the theological and developmental theories that support J2A and this morning piece is especially well-suited for parents and other adults who wish to know more about this important ministry.

In the afternoon, we move into specific help for leaders, including lots of practical, hands-on tips about teaching lesson plans, planning activities, classroom management and much, much more! The workshop is open to anyone, although there may be a fee for people who are not All Saints' parishioners to cover lunch and material costs. Please contact Tess Judge to register for the day. Hope to see you there!

SUNDAY, OCT 18 ---- During both of the Sunday services, the sermon will be given by Tracey Herzer, Executive Director of LeaderResources. She will weave together the lectionary readings for the day as we talk about our responsibility and stewardship of this next generation. Come hear how YOU can be a part of this transforming ministry!
