Fruit of the Spirit: Pentecost Apple-ications by Anna L. Liechty and Phyllis Vos Wezeman
This eBook offers congregations a thematic approach for communicating the message of Pentecost, as well as the period of the Church Year known as Ordinary Time. The symbolism of an apple is used to focus on the theme of the nine Fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Beginning with Pentecost Sunday, the apple symbol represents the gift of God's Spirit to all believers. Then through the next nine Sundays, a variety of apple-ications represent love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as recorded in the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Bible. The apple-ication keeps the listeners intrigued with a memorable symbol that appeals to the senses. If other translations of this Scripture passage are preferred, simply adjust the wording of each apple-ication as necessary.
Includes PDF file and congregational license to make as many copies as needed for your congregation. You can send copies home with parents, develop pages on bulletin boards or include selections in your newsletter. Plus you can use the file again and again over the years.
