Charles Dickens: The Christmas Carol

Nine sessions lead fifth and sixth graders through "The Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, comparing it to Christian life and the teachings of Jesus. Scrooge represents those who have shut God out of their lives -- those who are out of touch with God's purposes. Scrooge's nephew and Bob Cratchit are poor but accpet the gift of love from God and share it with others -- they do not let their meager circumstances defeat them.

Cleon Makes His Choice (Program)

Students experience the early church through the story of Cleon, a slave who runs away from his master and is befriended by a Christian family. Parallels are drawn to the Scriptures and the class builds a model of Caesarean that they can share with other children and parents at the end. Seven sessions for fourth to sixth graders. This program can be used as a VBS curriculum, summer program, church camp or integrated into Sunday School.

Jesus of Nazareth Program

This series of lessons uses the Jesus of Nazareth video (obtained separately) to invite children to explore the last days of Jesus. The walk the road to Jerusalem, attend the last supper, watch the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus and explore the meaning of the resurrection. The program has 27 sessions and is designed to be used as as the Sunday School program for sixth through eighth graders. You also might choose to skip some of them to shorten the series. For example, start with Lent and run through the end of the year. Or use it as a VBS program or the basis of a camp program. Excerpts could also be used to teach about specfic topics (e.g., atonement or communion).

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

This is contemporary re-telling of the story in the Broadway musical with music by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber. it is short enough (78 minutes) to watch in one sitting or can be divided into multiple sessions to use with The Joseph Story Program. It has the star power of former teen icon Donny Osmond, who played over 1,800 performances across North America. 

Meet the Saints: St. Patrick

An introduction to the life of Ireland's patron saint which is explored through engaging first person stories set within a devotional framework. In the first segment, MEET, the story and activities invite you to discover "Who was this saint?" In the LEARN section, the emphasis is on the call St. Patrick received from God to begin his ministry. Next, the EXPLORE portion tells what he did in response to God's call. Finally, in the SHARE section, you are challenged to continue the legacy of the Saint.
