Caroline Fairless 

Caroline is the Director of Children at Worship-Congregations in Bloom and has served on liturgical design teams for national and diocesan conferences as well as parish priest. During her years of service as the vicar of Holy Family Church in Half Moon Bay, CA, she created a worshiping community which is fully inclusive of its children and youth and watched that sense of inclusion spill over to all the decision making bodies of the church. Holy Family has been lifted up as a model for family worship across the country and abroad, and has been featured in Diocesan newspapers and Episcopal Life. Caroline's book,Children at Worship- Congregations in Bloom was published by Church Publishing, Inc. in the year 2000. Out of that experience, Carolyn and her husband, Jim Sims developed, The Bloom Box, a collection of resources designed to help congregations replicate their work [the Bloom Box DVD of video and CD with printed materials is available from LeaderResources].

Jim Sims

Jim is a musician and song writer, artist and conference presenter. He also has extensive experience as a music therapist and group facilitator with adolescents and adults in residential and outpatient settings. Jim has recorded Lovestar: Songs from the Heart, Metanoia: Time for Change and Miles Tone. He has more than a decade of experience as a scenic artist and signwriter for film and television, has served on the Liturgical Commission for the Diocese of East Carolina for fifteen years, and can build anything from the materials he finds within a six foot radius.
