The Mustard Seed Series®:

Bible-based K-9th Grade Sunday School
has never been easier to do!

This in-depth, non-denominational curriculum helps students gain a broad understanding of the Bible over many years. It uses classic artwork and literature to enhances learning the entire biblical story and themes that relate to practical issues in students' lives. Teachers love this curriculum (particularly those new to teaching) for its easy to follow instructions and convenient preparation materials.

One DRE said:
"We are a very small church. [Mustard Seed Series®] is
easy to use and... it even works with inconsistent
student attendance. Everything is laid out for [teachers].
There is a lot of variety and the Series is not boring."
--Emily Audette, (formerly) Tri-Parish Church (UCC) New Braintree, MA

The Mustard Seed Series®:

  • Is organized thematically around the Old and New Testaments
  • Presents our faith story clearly
  • Encourages students to think critically about Bible texts
  • Teaches children and their parents how to pray together
  • Requires minimal preparation for weekly lessons

The Mustard Seed Series® is offered for grades K-9th. It is also arranged for smaller churches to use with classes including two age groups. The 8th and 9th grade curriculum is designed to be used as confirmation preparation; it provides an overview of the Bible and Church history and can also be used with adults preparing for confirmation or church membership.

The Mustard Seed Series® is written by The Rev. Anita Kiere, a UCC minister who is a graduate of Yale Divinity School. This curriculum provides the depth and scholastic challenge desired by congregations who want their children to really learn the entire Bible, rather than just a few key stories.

This curriculum is offered as an annual membership or in print form. The membership allows access to all the program lessons (K-9th) for a single annual fee -- members download PDF files and can print as many copies as needed for use while the membership is in effect. The print version provides Student and Teacher books with weekly lessons plus a Teacher's Guide with general teaching information.

Supplemental books and videos are available for use with both the memberhip and printed materials. Supplemental materials must be purchased separately -- but many of them are optional as they generally are used in the last lessons designed for summer use (30+ lessons per grade).
